Navigating the complexities of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) can be daunting, especially as the scheme is constantly evolving, but the Sydney Disability Expo, held from Friday, 7 August until Saturday, 8 August, has everybody covered. It enables people with disability to live the life they choose today and plan for their future.
ImpactInstitute’s My Future, My Choice Disability Expo program is the largest Disability Expo program in Australia. Each Expo serves as a welcoming hub where thousands gather over two days to access vital information to maximise their goals.
The expo brings together hundreds of providers under one accessible roof including support services, aids, equipment & technologies providers, medical & allied health providers, training & employment services, advice & advocacy services and much more.
By collaborating with local disability representatives, the Expo offers real, meaningful connection to empower people with disabilities, their family and carers.
“We’ve noticed businesses increasingly offer innovative services in response to evolving needs. The Expo has become an informative destination that allows people with disabilities and their families to interact directly with providers in an environment that just can’t be replicated online” notes ImpactInstitute’s Senior Advisor, Kathryn Carey.
“The Sydney Disability Expo offers an incredibly vibrant atmosphere with entertainment, performances, speakers, and demonstrations to empower attendees and create a real community vibe,” adds Carey.
This year’s Expo Ambassadors are Fletcher Crowley and Lachie Bennett from Two Mates, 1 Chair. Fletcher and Lachie, two mates who began documenting their global travels after Fletcher sustained a spinal cord injury, recently tackled an epic three-month journey around the world, documenting every unfiltered moment to their 120,000 followers on @twomates1chair. Together they keep the energy high and show everyone exactly what true mateship looks like.

Attendees attest to the Expo’s impact, with one first time visitor praising the expo. “It was a great first experience for me and my son. The staff were super helpful.”
The Expo is fully accessible, ensuring that all attendees can comfortably participate and engage with exhibitors and activities. We will have AUSLAN interpreters, live captioning on stage, on-site first aid, wheelchairs available for short term hire free of charge, and Quiet Time from 9am-10am on Saturday morning to support people with sensory sensitivities, creating a calmer, less overwhelming environment. The event is also trained assistance animal friendly.
Don’t miss out! The Expo promises to be a supportive and welcoming experience. Join us and be part of a supportive community that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
